Registering

Once you have downloaded and installed the Audkenni-app application, you need to register an account. Audkenni-app works across multiple devices and you can install the app on as many smart devices as you want – just remember that you’ll need to register a new account for each device.


1. Registration via Registration station such as bank branches.

Anyone that has an Icelandic identity number (kennitala) is eligible for the Audkenni-app

Audkenni-app accounts are device-based, you cannot use the same account across multiple devices. You can still use Audkenni-app on as many smart devices as you want, but you will need to register a new account for each one of them.

It also means that you’ll need to register a new account if you’ve reset your device to factory settings or have changed your phone or tablet.

PIN 1 is for authentication e.g. logging in to e-services like internet banks.

PIN 2 is used for electronic signatures e.g. confirming bank transactions or signing digital documents.

No, only one person can have an account on their device.
Your account is valid for 5 years. After that you need to renew your account.

Electronic signatures have legal ramifications, so we need to be sure that the correct person is linked with the correct personal data. When you use Audkenni app to confirm your identity (when logging in, authenticating, signing agreements etc.) we need to be sure that whoever is using the device and has access to your PIN-code has the right to do so.

If you decide to let your account expire, it will stop working. To keep using the account you have to register a new one.

Yes, the number of devices is not limited. Just remember – you need to download and install the Audkenni-app and register a new account for each smart device.
